Community Guidelines

VapTales is the platform where people around the world come together to share and discover opinions from around the world with openness. Not all content is inspiring - so we have community guidelines to outline what we do and do NOT allow on VapTales. These guidelines are our acceptable use policy, so if you find content that should not be on VapTales, please let us know by contacting us through the applications or website. We use your reports to learn and evolve our standards, and work with subject matter experts to inform and update our guidelines.

At VapTales, we prioritize safety, diversity, inclusion, and authenticity. We encourage our users to post and view what makes them unique and viewers to engage in what inspires them; and we believe that a safe environment helps everyone express themselves openly. We deeply value the global nature of our community, and we strive to consider the breadth of cultural norms where we operate. We also aim to cultivate an environment for genuine interactions by only allowing authentic content on VapTales.

These Guidelines apply to all content on VapTales — and to all VapTalers, equally. Advertisers and Media partners in Discover agree to additional guidelines, including the requirement that their content be accurate and where appropriate, fact checked. In certain cases, we will not act against content when it is newsworthy and relates to a matter of political, social, or other general concern to our community.

We have done our best below, and in our Terms of Service, to set out specific rules of the road for what content we allow on VapTales. But it is hard to anticipate every situation that might come up. The key is the spirit of these rules: we want VapTales to be a safe and positive experience for everyone. We reserve the right to decide, in our sole discretion, what content violates that spirit and will not be permitted on the platform.

Graphic Content

We prohibit accounts that promote or distribute pornographic content. We report child sexual exploitation to authorities. Never post, save, or send nude or sexually explicit content involving anyone under the age of 18 — even of yourself. Never ask a minor to send explicit imagery or chats. Breastfeeding and other depictions of nudity in certain non-sexual contexts may be permitted.

Intimidation, Torment, and Bullying

We prohibit bullying or harassment of any kind. Do NOT post a Tale with the intention of making someone feel bad. Sharing another person’s confidential and private information and posts of people in private spaces — like a bathroom, bedroom, locker room or a medical facility — without their knowledge and consent is not allowed.

Cyberbullying, threats, Violence, Sadism, and Harm

Encouraging violence or dangerous behavior is prohibited — never threaten to harm a person, a group of people, or someone’s property. Posts with the nature of gratuitous or graphic violence are not allowed. We do NOT allow the glorification of self-harm, including the promotion of self-injury or eating disorders.

Misinformation

VapTales is not a place for misinformation, disinformation, mal-information or the individuals or groups spreading or creating it. We remove or limit distribution of false or misleading content that may harm users’ or the public’s well-being, safety or trust, including: Medically unsupported health claims that risk public health and safety, including the promotion of false cures, or misinformation about public health or safety emergencies False or misleading content about individuals or protected groups that promotes fear, hate or prejudice False or misleading content that encourages turning individuals, groups of people, places or organizations into targets of harassment or physical violence. Conspiracy theories Content that originates from disinformation campaigns Factual information that is published or deliberately modified to erode trust or inflict harm, such as changing or omitting of context, date, or time Fabricated or meaningfully manipulated visual or audio content that erodes trust or causes harm.

Impersonation, Deceptive Practices and False Information

Pretending to be someone you are not — this includes your friends, celebrities, brands, or other organizations — or attempting to deceive people about who you are is not allowed. We prohibit spam and other deceptive practices, including manipulating content for misleading purposes or to imitate VapTales’ content formats. We prohibit spreading false information that causes harm or is malicious, such as denying the existence of tragic events, unsubstantiated medical claims, or undermining the integrity of civic processes.

Illegal Post and Content

Do NOT use VapTales for any illegal activities — including to buy or sell illegal drugs, contraband, counterfeit goods, illegal weapons, promote, or encourage illegal activities. We prohibit the promotion and use of certain regulated goods, as well as the depiction or promotion of criminal activities.

Terrorism, Hate Groups, and Hate Speech

Terrorist organizations and hate groups are prohibited from using our platform and we have no tolerance for content that advocates or advances violent extremism or terrorism. Hate speech or content that demeans, defames, or promotes discrimination or violence based on race, color, caste, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status, immigration status, social economic status, age, weight, or pregnancy status is prohibited.

Time to time we review the posts/content on the platform to determine whether there is a violation of these Guidelines, and any action needs to be taken. If you violate these Community Guidelines, we may remove the offending post, content, terminate or limit the visibility of your account, and/or notify law enforcement. If your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service or these Guidelines, you may not use VapTales again. Please take these Guidelines seriously and honor them in the spirit in which they are intended.
